Nigerian U20 International Attracts Strong Interests From Elite Football Clubs in Europe

Nigeria U20 international Taiwo Awoniyi has continued to attract ramped – up interest from European clubs as Manchester United, Everton, and Olympiakos are now the latest to battle for his signature in the summer.

Reports disclose that Red Bull Salzburg and Porto had earlier submitted a request for the services of the Imperial Academy product but Taiwo Awoniyi could be heading to Greece, with Panathinaikos, PAOK and AEK Athens also considering a move for the 17-year-old.
Recall that the Flying Eagles star penned a preliminary contract with Kalmar in 2014, which United Academy supremo, Razaq Olojo, has termed illegal as the Swedish club negotiated with a wrong party, Imperial Academy.
Meanwhile, Awoniyi has sworn that the transfer income from his sale to a European club will be pocketed by United Academy come what may.
The interested suitors based in England, Greece, Portugal and Austria want a clearer picture of the real owner of his registration rights before officially launching a bid.
The highly-rated starlet has been tipped to be the ‘next Rashidi Yekini’ and has represented Nigeria at cadet level.
