Troops Recapture Buni, Yadi Towns In Yobe


Nigerian Troops recaptured two more towns from the Boko Haram insurgents. They include Buni and Yadi towns in Yobe State.

According to a statement signed yesterday by the army acting spokesman, Col Sani Kukasheka Usman and made available to our correspondent, Daniel C E, the troops encountered little resistance from the terrorists whom he said were on the run during the operation.
“I wish to inform you that troops of the Nigerian Army this afternoon captured Buni Yadi town the headquarters of Gujba Local Government Area and Buni Gari town both of Yobe State.
” During the operations, they encountered little resistance as the insurgents were on the run. Cordon and search and mopping up operations are ongoing in these areas. Operations by troops are also continuing to recover the few areas remaining in the hands of
terrorists,” he said.
